Best Beaches in Florida
If you’re planning a trip to the Sunshine State any time soon, you’re going to want to know just which beaches are the best. With so many to choose from it’s easy to just pick one, but that doesn’t mean it will have baby powder fine sand, a huge selection of shells and ample wildlife. Check out this list of some of the best beaches in Florida.
Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, Naples, Florida
This gorgeous 166 acre stretch of beach is located in South Florida and promises to impress. It’s the perfect place to take the family and enjoy soaking up some rays. In addition to features warm, fine sand, this beach is super clean. it even offers impressive showers, bathrooms and facilities to rinse off after spending time in the water. Crowds can be quite thick so be sure to hit the beach in the early morning so you can find parking and bring lots of water. The last time we were there the waves were strong enough to be fun to play in, yet still safe. There are many days when the waters here are as still as glass.
Fort Myers Beach, Fort Myers, Florida
If you’re looking for more of a party atmosphere, then this is the beach for you. It features live music near the clock tower, delicious eateries including a Greek restaurant you MUST visit and clean bathrooms and water fountains. Fishing without a license is allowed off the pier and people have been known to catch everything from shark to catfish. There’s also jet ski rentals and parasailing. The water can be a bit murky, but if you camp out on the beach and pay attention you can oftentimes see bottlenose dolphin swimming right off the shore.
Barefoot Beach Preserve County Park, Bonita Springs, Florida
Those with small children will love this 8200ft stretch of beach. It’s super clean, with fine sand that includes many small shells. The water is incredibly shallow, we’re talking a mere few inches deep even as you move off the shore. This makes a great place for kids who are just learning to swim to play. Pack a picnic to enjoy under the provided park shelters or just a beach umbrella and blankets to camp on.
