Say hello to winter! The season is just beginning and the weather is getting quite chilly, and for all of those seasonal campers out there, we have just the thing to warm you up! Here’s a yummy hot chocolate camping recipe you can make in 3 easy steps that will warm your insides as you settle in your cozy new RV.
Camping in the winter is always a fun experience with the beautiful snow and the warm fires, and we want to give a shout out to all of those that love winter RVing! Follow these easy steps and you’ll be enjoying a cup of hot chocolate in no time…
- 2 1/2 cups cocoa
- 3 cups organic cane sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1. Heat the Milk
This can be done over a grill or over the campfire on a grill grate. Make sure that the fire is low enough that it doesn’t burn or even boil the milk, just enough to steam it. It will look more creamy with a thin layer of foam over top.
2. Stir in the Ingredients
Add 2 tablespoons of the cocoa mix per 1 cup of milk. Slowly stir in spices, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. For additional hot chocolate flavor, one tablespoon of vanilla syrup flavoring will add a bit of a stronger taste.
This hot chocolate is one of our favorite recipes, and super easy to make whether you’re camping in the woods on a winter’s night, or in the comfort of your own home. There’s something about sitting in your heated RV on a chilly night, huddled together with hot chocolate in hand. Not only will it warm your insides, it’ll give your camper a delicious smell you’ll absolutely love.
Happy Winter Camping from your friends at Specialty!
