Many RV-lovers agree that time on the road is often better than time at home, but sometimes it can be tough to imagine spending the holidays in an RV. Fortunately, there are a few easy ways to make the holidays in your RV just as merry as the ones at home.
If you’re someone who escapes the cold winters up north for the warmer ones in southern states, you won’t miss putting on your snow gear to hang the lights. Decorate the interior and exterior of your RV – in your flip flops – with some of these great ideas.
You don’t have to miss out on the fun of decorating a tree just because you’re traveling in a motorhome. A small to medium size faux Christmas tree will still give you the warm feeling you get from a large one in your home. Even better, you can shop for ornaments as you travel and have an eclectic tree with decorations from around the country.
Use suction cups to stick decorations to the interior windows of your RV. They’re easy to remove if you’ll be driving around during the holidays. If you won’t be driving, use faux garlands, poinsettias and other novelties to spice up your dashboard for everyone to see.
This is where many travelers go all-out, especially if they’re planning on staying stationary for the holidays. Hang lights (the icicle style lights work great) along the top of your RV or from the bottom above the wheel wells. Use suction hooks to hang lights, garlands and even stockings on the outside of your vehicle.
Utilize your campsite. Many motorists decorate their campsite just like a snow-covered lawn. Blow-up decorations are perfect, because they’re deflatable when the season is over. Go ahead and get creative, but remember you’ll have to find a place to store your decorations after the holidays.
