All Halloween parties have three main components in order to be successful. There needs to be music for dancing, games for entertainment and food for your hungry guests. Finger foods are always a great option and are usually cheap to prepare. The following creepy finger foods will be a haunting hit at your Halloween party this year.
Ghosts Pita Chips
- 1 package of pita bread
- Flavored herbs and spices of your choice
Preheat your Lancaster RV’s oven to 375 degrees. Next, split your pita bread in half and, using a ghost shaped cookie cutter, begin to cut out your ghost pita chips. You can get three ghosts from each half of pita bread. Arrange them on a baking sheet and sprinkle herbs, spices and a dash of salt on top. Bake for 5 to 9 minutes or until slightly golden and crispy. Allow to cool for 5 minutes on wire rack. One package will serve about 12 people. Serve with hummus or other favorite dips.
Mini Ghost Sandwiches
- 24 slices of white bread
- 2 cups chicken salad, prepared
- 2 – 8 oz. containers whipped light cream cheese
- Fresh sliced black olives
- 1- 4 ½ inch ghost shaped cookie cutter
Start by cutting out ghosts in the bread using the cookie cutter. After the pieces are cut out, spread about ¼ cup of chicken salad on one piece of ghost bread. Add another ghost on top to make a sandwich. Next, thinly spread about one tablespoon of whipped cream cheese on the surface of each sandwich. Finally, using the sliced black olives, give your ghosts eyes and a mouth. These will make 12 sandwiches.
Monster Eye Poppers
- 3 cups bisquick
- 1 pound ground, mild pork sausage
- 1 – 8 oz block mild shedder cheese, shredded
- 1 jar of pimiento olives
In a large bowl, combine three cups bisquick, ground pork sausage and shredded cheese and mix thoroughly with hands until blended. Next, shape your meat mixture into eyeballs, about 1 ¼ inch in size. Place these on a greased baking sheet and press two olives deeply into the center of each Monster Eye. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-19 minutes or until golden brown. This will also serve 12.
