Thinking of passing through Lancaster on your next road trip? You’ll probably end up staying a bit longer than expected. It may be a small city, but after a couple of days (and nights) in downtown Lancaster, you may never want to leave.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or a local who calls Lancaster home, you won’t want to miss out on any of these events this holiday season.
The Holiday Parade
Don’t forget to stake out your spot on Main Street for the annual Silver and Gold Christmas Holiday Parade. A family favorite every year, the parade lasts for about two hours and starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. Enjoy tons of floats, live music and more than enough decorations to put you in the holiday spirit.
Christmas Memories: The 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s
Missing the holiday gifts and decorations of the good old days? Stop by the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio from Nov. 29 through Dec. 31 to relive the Christmas toys, ornaments, faux trees and lights you enjoyed as a kid. Basically a temporary museum of all things holiday themed – Christmas Memories is a must-see this year.
You don’t have to love the holiday season to fall in love with Lancaster. Night owls and music junkies have their fair share of fun too, and one of the best places to catch a glimpse of the local music scene is The Lodge in Lancaster on East Main Street.
Every Friday in November and December, the newly reopened and highly praised bar and restaurant hosts the Live at The Lodge series. Enjoy two to three hours of live music paired with cold drinks and local eats.
