One Fall Camping Recipe in Four Easy Steps!
You may have scheduled your campsite, decided on adventures you’ll be doing, and which route you’ll be taking, but perhaps you’ve saved your meal plan for last. Cooking in your new RV (or one you’ve had for a long time) can sometimes become a hassle. The task may seem daunting, reassuring yourself that you have the right amount of food and the correct variety of dishes to cook it in.
This is why we’ve got an easy, delicious fall recipe that you’ll be able to make in four easy steps!
Baked Spaghetti
Ingredients:
- Cooking spray
- 16 oz. spaghetti
- 2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb. ground beef
- salt
- black pepper
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 (28-oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 c. basil, chopped
- 1 c. shredded mozzarella
- 1/4 c. freshly grated Parmesan
We chose a meal that not only possesses an list of ingredients easily transferred in an RV, but one that tastes delicious as well! You’ll love this baked spaghetti, as it also requires a minimal number of dishes. When camping, it’s always better to be able to use the counter space for cooking and preparing, not just to stack all of the dishes you’ve used, so few dishes means more space. With this recipe, you won’t have to worry about too much hassle!
Directions:
1. Preheat Your Oven
You’ll want to preheat your RV’s oven to 350° and grease a medium baking dish with cooking spray (make sure your windows are slightly open, to keep the temperature in your camper at a comfortable level).
2. Cook The Noodles
Cook spaghetti noodles according to the package directions until al dente (firm to the bite), drain, and set aside.
3. Add Your Extras
Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, heat the oil. Add your onions and cook until they’re soft and translucent (for about 5 minutes). After this, stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant (about one minute more). Add your ground beef seasoned with your salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook all together until the meat is no longer pink, which is about 8 minutes. Drain the excess fat into a bowl lined with paper towels. Pour in crushed tomatoes and basil and simmer until slightly smaller, which will take about 10 minutes. Season with more salt and pepper to make it taste more yummy!
4. Put It All Together
Toss it in with the spaghetti, then transfer all of it to a baking dish and top it with mozzarella and Parmesan. Bake until the cheese is melted and the pasta is warmed through (about 20 minutes).
Enjoy!
And there you have it: great “comfort food” perfect for the fall camping season! You’ll love coming back to your RV after a day of camping adventures and throwing this easy meal together for you and your family.
