Tailgate for College Football in Your RV

It’s time to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes again, so fire up your RV and get ready for the best tailgating season yet. The following are our favorite tips for tailgating in your RV, so you can enjoy every Buckeyes game from start to finish.
Find the Perfect Spot
Your RV is much larger than most other tailgate vehicles, so picking the perfect spot is very important. Be sure to arrive early and find a spot near a grassy area, so you and your guests have ample room to spread out.
Give yourself plenty of time (three to four hours) before kickoff to set up and enjoy your tailgating party. Check to make sure you know the rules of the area you’ll be tailgating before you arrive, so you’re not caught off guard during your fun.
Be Prepared for Weather
The weather can change at the drop of a hat during fall in Ohio, so it’s important to be prepared for all conditions. Bring an awning or sunscreen to keep your tailgaters cool on hot days and pack plenty of layers for the colder days. Bug spray is also an essential item to pack in your RV for those long days outdoors at the games.
Prepare Food Ahead of Time
You don’t want to be cooking in your RV kitchen the entire time your friends are tailgating outside. Prepare cold salads and treats at home, then place your serving trays over bowls of ice to keep the snacks cool on hot days.
And for longer treks to the football field, take your tailgate meats out of the freezer before you embark on your journey, so it’s freshly thawed when you arrive. And if you’re not up for providing all of the food for your tailgate party, ask your fellow tailgaters to bring a dish, and enjoy your party pot-luck style.
