Visit St. Louis for an Affordable Summer Getaway
Fire up your RV and cruise over to St. Louis this summer for tons of family fun and free events to fill your vacation. Whether it’s your first time in the city, or you frequent the “Gateway to the West,” you’re guaranteed to have a blast at all of St. Louis’ awesome summer offerings.
Concerts and Live Music
Summer in St. Louis means more free live music than you can even fit into your schedule. Head down to the outdoor plaza at the Ferguson Citywalk for free concerts two Fridays each month all the way through October 10. Or if you’re looking for some mid-week head, Music on Main takes place on the historic Main Street in St. Charles on the third Wednesday of each month through September. Big names like Dawn Weber and Butch Wax & the Hollywoods will be gracing the Main Street stage this summer.
Free Events for Kids
St. Louis is a family-friendly city offering free events that are fun for kids as well as their parents. General admission to the St. Louis Zoo is always free of charge, but during the summer, the Conservation Carousel, Stingrays at the Caribbean Cove and the Children’s Zoo are also free from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. And if you’re looking to cool off in the city on a hot day, the Citygarden is a free place to enjoy a picnic and let the kids play in the fountains and wading pools.
Free Movies Throughout the City
If you’re looking for a movie night that won’t break the bank, outdoor movies are showing all over St. Louis throughout the summer. Catch a free outdoor movie at the Gateway Arch, the Grafton Riverfront, the Chesterfield Amphitheater, Forest Park and the City Centre Park in St. Peters. Check with each location to verify dates and movie times.
